Nine Days In Greece by Kristie Dickinson

A recent guest told us she had been reading a book, by an author called Kristie Dickinson, entitled ‘Nine Days in Greece’, the location for which sounded very much like he Mistral. We read it, contacted the author, and sure enough she had been to stay 11 years ago when a handsome Cretan man she met in flight (and their brief liaison) provided the inspiration for a series of novels. Here’s what she told us:
‘The story with Costas (all names were changed in the book) is fiction but is based on a true story.  I really did meet a super-handsome, much younger guy on the flight from Athens to Crete, and we went on the first date, and he scared me by showing up at the hotel.  We actually stayed in touch as penpals for about eight years, until he became engaged.  I’ve never again seen him since the night of that first date and often wonder how he is and what he’s doing.  “You are very different from other women” is the last thing he said to me in person.  Sigh.’
If you were a Mistralite back in those days it’s a great read and without doubt you’ll recognise some of the characters.
